HOT SPRINGS, Arkansas —
Fehild Graesel and
Kathrine Vynne each carded rounds of 3-under 69, propelling the Little Rock Women's Golf team to the top of the standings after Sunday's opening round of the Diamante Intercollegiate at Diamante Country Club. Little Rock (-5) holds a one-stroke lead on Boston College (-4).
The Trojans will tee off Monday's second round at 10:06 am with a three-stroke lead over third-place Florida Gulf Coast (-1) and a six-shot lead over Central Arkansas and Oral Roberts, each of whom is tied at 1-over and rounding out the Top 5.
Graesel converted four birdies in her opening round, firing a 35 on the front nine and 34 on the back stretch to finish at 69. It's the first round of below-par golf for the sophomore, who's previous best was an even round of 72 last season. Vynne sank an eagle on the second hole and totaled six birdies in the round, finishing at 69 after a scorching back nine of 32.
