TUNICA, Mississippi — The Little Rock Women's Golf team was able to overcome a blustery opening round at the OVC Championships and take a nine-stroke lead after the first 18 holes at Tunica National. Little Rock (+14) fired a team total of 302 through constant wind and will head into Monday's second round with the overall lead. Morehead State – last year's OVC Champions – is second at +23, followed by Western Illinois and Lindenwood at +37.

Little Rock also holds the first two spots on the individual leaderboard, with
Anna Dawson taking the top spot after an opening round of Even 72.
Eleonore Aernouts is second at +2 (74) and the rest of the squad finds themselves among the top dozen individuals.
Katja Mueller and
Agatha Alesson are tied for seventh at +6 (78) and
Fehild Graesel is 12
th at +8 (80).

Dawson carded 16 pars, Aernouts turned in 14 and Alesson had a dozen in the first round. Mueller is third overall with three birdies. Aernouts connected on an eagle, one of only three made during the entire first round. Little Rock will start its second round tomorrow morning at 9:40 am.
