The Little Rock Women's Basketball team is proud to announce the signing of Brenna Burk to the Trojan program. Burk made her decision official Wednesday, putting pen to paper on National Signing Day.
Â
Burk – a 5-6 point guard from Russellville High School in Arkansas – is a four-year varsity letterman with the Cyclones and averaged 17 points and 4.5 assists per game during her senior season. Burk played on three playoff teams at Russellville and was named to the All-State, All-Conference, and All-Tournament teams.
Â
Little Rock coach
Joe Foley says Burk's offensive awareness should be a much-needed boost for the Trojans.
Â
"We're very excited to add Brenna to our basketball family here at Little Rock," Foley said. "She's a guard that can really shoot the ball well and create opportunities for others as well. She will be a great addition to our program."
Â
Burk eclipsed the 1,000-point mark for her career (1,192) while at Russellville and shot 81 percent from the free throw line. In addition to basketball, Burk is a member of the Russellville softball team.
Â
"Brenna has been a hidden gem and Little Rock lucked up on one of the best," Russellville girls coach LaShanta Johnson said. "She's a competitor with an edge and work ethic that are unmatched. Just as fierce as she is on the court, she's a unique and special person off the court. We're glad she isn't too far, so we can remain close fans of Brenna."
