LITTLE ROCK - The 2024 season has arrived as the Little Rock Trojans are set to host Texas A&M-Commerce on Thursday, August 8th, at 6 p.m. and Northwest Mississippi State on Saturday, August 10th, at 7 p.m.
Series History
Thursday's match will mark the third time the Trojans have faced the Lions. Currently, Texas A&M-Commerce leads the series, having won the two matches played in 1996 and 1997. The Lions posted a 9-7-3 (7-1-2) record in 2023.
Saturday's match will be the first meeting between Northwest Mississippi State and Little Rock. The Rangers posted a 21-2 (10-1) record last season, which saw them make it to the NJCAA DII Championship Pool Play.
What to Expect
The Trojans enter the 2024 season coming off a conference tournament semi-final appearance. Fourteen Trojans are returning for this season, including two four-year players, Abbie Smith and Camryn Jacobs. Smith will also assume the captain position alongside fellow senior Mykena Turner. Turner is fresh off being named to the OVC All-Newcomer Team and All-OVC Second Team in her debut season after transferring from South Dakota State. Amaya Arias looks to add more accolades to her already decorated career after back-to-back seasons being named to the All-OVC Second Team. Kaitlin Graeber is set to leave her mark on the OVC after a huge freshman campaign, being named to the OVC All-Tournament Team in 2023. Tianna Jones will make her Trojan debut this year, filling the big shoes left at the forward position by former Trojan Karina De Paoli.
