Little Rock receives 22 OVC Academic Medals of Honor

LITTLE ROCK — On Friday, the Ohio Valley Conference announced that 22 Little Rock student-athletes have earned the OVC Academic Medal of Honor for the 2023-24 academic year. The OVC gives the Academic Medal of Honor to those student-athletes who maintain a 4.0 grade point average over an entire academic year.
 
 "The OVC Academic Medal of Honor is a remarkable achievement for the 22 Little Rock student-athletes recognized by the conference," said Frank M. Cuervo, Little Rock Director of Athletics. "I am incredibly proud of UA Little Rock's finest for representing both themselves and our institution with such excellence. They truly deserve to be commended for this distinction."
 
The 24 awards will be distributed across seven different Little Rock programs, including Baseball, Men's Basketball, Men's Cross Country, Women's Golf, Women's Soccer, Men's Track & Field and Women's Track & Field. Soccer had the most recipients with eight, followed by Women's Golf and Women's Track and Field with four, while Men's Track and Field had three. Two Little Rock student-athletes received multiple awards (Andrew Payton and Aaron Soltmann).
 
The OVC will announce the recipients of the Commissioner's Honor Roll, the Academic Achievement Award and the Team Academic Achievement Awards next week.

• Women's Soccer (8) – Emma Beattie, Kate Benne, Karina De Paoli, Colleen Gilliland, Kaitlin Graeber, Caitlynn Spencer, Serenity Thake, and Addison Yinger
 
• Men's Track and Field (3) – Andrew Payton, Aaron Soltman, and Ethan Sorrels
 
• Women's Track and Field (4) – Carolin Bielert, Brooklyn Marcee, Ludovica Polini, and Landri Schreier
