LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – Little Rock Athletics has promoted Brandy Sweden Dixon to Senior Associate Athletics Director for External Operations – Marketing and Communications, elevating a familiar and trusted leader.
Dixon, now in her third stint with the Trojans, will oversee marketing, communications and community relations efforts, bringing a wealth of institutional knowledge and a proven track record in storytelling, fan engagement and brand development.
"Brandy has been an invaluable member of our leadership team and someone who represents Little Rock Athletics with tremendous professionalism, creativity and passion," said Little Rock Director of Athletics
Frank M. Cuervo. "Her deep connection to this department, combined with her experience in communications, marketing and community engagement, makes her uniquely suited for this role. Brandy understands the importance of telling the Trojan story in a meaningful and authentic way and has played a major role in strengthening our brand and expanding our reach across Central Arkansas. I am excited to see her continue to lead and elevate our external operations efforts in this new position."
Dixon's history with Trojan Athletics dates back to 2005, when she joined the department as an Assistant Sports Information Director. In that role, she worked directly with several programs, including women's basketball and volleyball, helping shape the department's communications efforts during a formative period.
After gaining additional professional experience outside of athletics, Dixon returned to Arkansas in 2019, serving as Senior Event Sales Manager for the Little Rock Marriott before transitioning into a leadership role with the Little Rock Marathon as Assistant Manager. Her work in those roles further strengthened her expertise in event operations, community engagement and large-scale promotion.
Dixon rejoined Little Rock Athletics as Assistant Athletics Director for Communications, where she managed all communications efforts while serving as the primary contact for men's basketball, cross country and track & field. During that time, she played a central role in shaping the department's messaging, enhancing its digital presence and expanding its storytelling platforms.
In her new role, Dixon will oversee all external operations, aligning marketing, communications and community outreach initiatives to further elevate the Trojans' visibility and engagement across Central Arkansas and beyond.
"I am grateful for the opportunity to continue growing and contributing in this role," Dixon said. "This achievement would not have been possible without the support, collaboration, and encouragement of such an outstanding team. I would also like to extend my sincere thanks to Frank Cuervo, Director of Athletics, for this opportunity and for his continued leadership and support."
A native of Murfreesboro, Arkansas, Dixon earned both her Bachelor of Arts in Mass Media and Master of Science in Sports Administration from Henderson State University. She is married to Dr. Kris Dixon, and the couple resides in Sherwood.
