The Little Rock men's basketball game with Eastern Illinois that was postponed last month has been rescheduled. The two teams will meet on Monday, Jan. 27, at 2 pm, on the campus of fellow Ohio Valley Conference member Lindenwood University in St. Charles, Mo.
Administrators from each school, along with officials from the OVC, agreed on a new date and location for the game which was postponed December 21 after Little Rock student manager Josh Claxton tragically passed away in a car accident earlier that morning.
"I want to personally thank OVC Commissioner Beth DeBauche, as well as Eastern Illinois Director of Athletics Tom Michael and Lindenwood Director of Athletics Jason Coomer for working with us in the spirit of cooperation to reschedule last month's game in a fair and equitable manner," said Little Rock Director of Athletics Frank M. Cuervo. "We appreciate their condolences and support, as well as those of all our OVC peers, as we mourn the loss of Josh Claxton."
The Trojans will play their regularly scheduled OVC games that week beginning at Western Illinois on Thursday, Jan. 23 and at Lindenwood on Saturday, Jan. 25. After a day off, the Trojans return to Lindenwood's Robert F. Hyland Performance Arena for the makeup game on Monday afternoon. Admission to the game is free. The game can be heard on 103.7 FM Buz2 with the pregame beginning at 1:45 pm. The contest will also be streamed live on ESPN+.
The Trojans will return to Little Rock following the game with EIU and play home games with UT Martin on Thursday, Jan. 30 and Tennessee State on Saturday, Feb. 1.
