Little Rock Looks to Extend Home Dominance Against Morehead State

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – The Trojans return home Sunday to face Morehead State at the unbeaten Coleman Sports Complex, where Little Rock has not lost to an Ohio Valley Conference opponent in more than two years. The Trojans will look to extend that streak as they continue their push for a top spot in the conference standings.

Little Rock (4-3-5, 2-0-3 OVC) is coming off its first OVC road win of the season — a 1-0 victory at UT Martin on Thursday. Morehead State (3-11, 1-4 OVC), meanwhile, fell 4-1 to Tennessee Tech that same day, marking its fourth straight loss. With Thursday's results, Little Rock climbed to third place in the standings, four points back of first, while the Eagles dropped to ninth.

The Trojans and Eagles have met just six times, with half of those matchups coming in OVC play. Morehead State holds a narrow edge in the series, but Little Rock claimed last year's meeting, 2-1.

Little Rock will look to build on its third-place position with three of its final four regular-season matches at home — where the Trojans have not lost since last year.

Offensively, the Trojans have scored 23 goals this season, including 10 at home, averaging two per match — one of the highest marks in the conference. Sophomores Maria Schuller and Maggie Turner have led the attack, while seniors Amaya Arias and Serenity Thake continue to anchor the midfield.

Morehead State has struggled on both ends recently, allowing nine goals and scoring just once during its four-game skid. The Eagles have yet to win a road match this season — a trend that bodes well for the Trojans and their dominant home form.

Head coach Kelly Farrell said her team's momentum continues to build and emphasized the importance of maintaining focus down the stretch as the Trojans battle for a top seed in the OVC tournament.

"We've been really good at home this year, and our goal as a group is to make Coleman a tough place to play," Farrell said. "I know the team is excited about being at home for three of the last four games, and our aim is to stay undefeated. As I've said before, every game in the OVC is competitive, so I expect four battles to close out the season — but I'm looking forward to combating the challenges that each one presents."

Kickoff is set for noon and will be streamed on ESPN+, with updates provided on social media.
