LITTLE ROCK, AR. – Sophomore forward Maria Schuller has once again been recognized for her standout performances, earning Ohio Valley Conference Offensive Player of the Week honors for the third time this season.
Schuller continued her remarkable form in Little Rock's 1-0 victory at Eastern Illinois, scoring the lone goal in the 22nd minute to lift the Trojans to their fifth conference win. The decisive strike—her 12th of the season—came after she won a foot race to a perfectly flicked ball forward from Amaya Arias, calmly finishing past the keeper. Schuller finished the match with three shots, including one on target, while playing 74 minutes in the hard-fought road win that kept Little Rock unbeaten in OVC play.
"I'm very grateful to be surrounded by people who help me succeed on and off the field and push me to exceed my limits," said Schuller. "It is a surreal feeling to be able to bring back great results, at home and away, to push us closer to what we all want to achieve this year. I'm excited for what the rest of the season holds and I'm thankful for my teammates, coaches, and Little Rock community. Let's go Trojans!"
Head coach Kelly Farrell praised her sophomore standout for her consistency and impact throughout the season.
"I'm thrilled that Maria has been honored by the conference again. She has been such a dangerous attacking threat for us all year and I'm glad that's been recognized. Maria is a really fun player to watch and I'm excited to see what she does for us in the home stretch of the season."
This marks Schuller's third OVC weekly award of the 2025 campaign, further solidifying her place as one of the conference's most dynamic and influential offensive players.
