LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – Little Rock soccer opens the 2025 season on the road against East Texas A&M in Commerce, Texas. The game is set for Thursday, Aug. 14, at 7 p.m.
The two teams met in an exhibition last year and faced off twice during the 1996-97 regular seasons.
The Trojans finished 7-7-5 last season, while the Lions were 9-10-3.
"I'm looking forward to our first real game. We had two solid exhibitions that allowed us to work on some things and incorporate our new players into the mix. East Texas A&M is well-coached and coming off a conference championship appearance last year, so I anticipate a battle. I'm excited to officially kick off the season," head coach
Kelly Farrell said.
Little Rock is looking to build off back-to-back semifinal appearances in the Ohio Valley Conference Tournament. The team returns several experienced players, with three Trojans named to the returning All-OVC team.
"I think we return a really solid core group of players, obviously headlined by our three returning All-OVC players and reigning OVC Goalkeeper of the Year
Peyton Urban. We do have some big holes to fill, but I'm super encouraged by how our newcomers have handled the transition. We have freshmen playing like they've been here before, and that's exciting," Farrell said.
