LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – After 10 days off, the Trojans hit the road to take on Louisiana-Monroe on Wednesday at 6 p.m., looking to stay hot against a team they've beaten in eight of the last 10 meetings.
Little Rock (1-1) is coming off a dominant 7-0 win at UAPB, while ULM (2-2) lost 5-0 at UAB. The Trojans will look to continue their goal streak from the previous win, while the Warhawks aim to bounce back at home.
Little Rock and ULM were Sun Belt Conference foes until Little Rock left to join the Ohio Valley Conference in 2022. The Trojans have commanded the series with 17 wins and eight losses, including a seven-game win streak from 2016–21.
The two teams met again last year in Little Rock for a nonconference game after a brief hiatus; the Warhawks won 1-0. Little Rock will look to rebound from last year and enforce its previous series dominance on Wednesday night.
"I'm looking forward to the game vs ULM and hoping to build on the momentum from our game against Pine Bluff. Our matchup last year with Monroe was a tough battle and I expect the same this year. We've had a great week of training and I'm excited to execute some of the concepts we've been working on," said head coach
Kelly Farrell.
With Week 1 OVC Offensive Player of the Week
Maggie Turner (three goals) and
Amaya Arias (two goals) leading the offense, and goalkeeper
Peyton Urban teaming with freshmen
Emily Nahon and
Mary Ratcliff on the back line, the Trojans will look to control both ends of the field.
