LITTLE ROCK, Ark. — The Trojans open their Ohio Valley Conference schedule Sunday at Tennessee Tech, with sophomore
Maria Schuller, the OVC Offensive Player of the Week, looking to extend her goal-scoring success against the Golden Eagles.
Little Rock (2-3-2) last drew 3-3 against Tulsa in an emphatic Senior Day clash, while Tennessee Tech (0-6-4) recently lost 1-0 to North Alabama and has yet to win its first game.
The OVC preseason poll had the Trojans projected third and Tennessee Tech favored to claim the women's soccer title, but the Golden Eagles' winless streak remains surprising. Currently, in terms of nonconference standings, Little Rock sits third in the OVC, behind Lindenwood and Eastern Illinois, while Tennessee Tech is seventh.
Little Rock holds a 4-2-1 edge in the series and claimed the last meeting, 1-0. Five of the seven matchups have been decided by a single goal, so Sunday's matchup should be fun to watch.
Schuller has been in top form for the Trojans, leading the offense with six goals and three assists this season. She headlines an attack that has outscored its opponents 17-15 and posted 107 shots compared with 88 allowed. In goal, senior

Head coach
Kelly Farrell is excited to start conference play and believes the Trojans have a good shot at performing well.
"I'm looking forward to part 2 of our season. I think our non-conference slate has prepared us for OVC play. Our last game was tough and revealed a lot of character so I think it was a good jumping off point to lead us into Tennessee Tech. There is tons of parity in our league and I expect every game to be a battle but I believe in this team and look forward to what we can achieve in the OVC," said Farrell.
