Little Rock Set to Host Southeastern Louisiana for Thursday’s Game and Turf Ceremony

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – Fresh off a statement win, Little Rock eyes a fourth straight series victory over Southeastern Louisiana on Thursday at 6 p.m. The night will also feature a ribbon-cutting for the Trojans' new turf field.

Little Rock (2-2) won 3-2 last Sunday against in-state rival Central Arkansas, while SLU (0-4) lost 3-1 at South Alabama and is still looking for its first win of the season.

The Trojans have faced the Lions only eight times in program history, with a majority of those games coming during the 2000s. Little Rock controls the series 4-3-1, with the last game in 2019 ending in a 2-0 Trojan victory.

The Trojans have allowed only two goals in the entire series while scoring 10. Head coach Kelly Farrell is hopeful her team can continue the series dominance and get the win on Thursday.

"Sunday was a huge win for us and I'm so proud of the response, but it really was a tale of two halves," Farrell said. "The challenge for the group on Thursday is to have a complete performance and build off that strong second half. That means 90 minutes of buy-in on both sides of the ball. I'm excited for another big challenge and can't wait to play in front of a great crowd like we had on Sunday."

Little Rock will look to its triple threat in senior Amaya Arias (four goals) and sophomores Maria Schuller (three goals) and Maggie Turner (three goals). With the Lions surrendering an average of three goals a match, the Trojans will look to capitalize on every chance.

Thursday's matchup will also celebrate Little Rock's new turf field with a ribbon-cutting ceremony, plus complimentary food and drinks for faculty and students before kickoff.

The game will be streamed on ESPN+, and updates will be provided on social media.
