INDEPENDENCE, Minn. – Little Rock men's golf team opens its 2025 campaign this weekend as the Trojans head north to compete in the 2
nd Swing Gopher Invitational, hosted Sunday and Monday by Minnesota.
The Trojans enter the fall slate coming off a historic season that saw them capture the 2025 Ohio Valley Conference Tournament title and advance to the NCAA Regionals. Head coach
Austin Eoff has set another challenging schedule to prepare his team for a potential repeat run.
"I am really looking forward to beginning the year at Minnesota on an elite golf course against a strong field," Eoff said. "It will be a great test to see where we stack up against Texas A&M, South Carolina, Louisville, and others this early in the season."
Little Rock's lineup combines proven veterans with fresh talent. Redshirt junior
Rhett South and sophomore
Ed Featherstone return after earning All-OVC honors in 2025, with South also claiming the OVC individual title. They are joined by
Mark Stockdale, who previously competed at Central Arkansas and Arkansas, along with freshmen
Viggo Talasmaki of Finland and
Elliott Simonsen of Monaco.
"The guys have been working very hard and our starting five are all playing solid golf," Eoff added. "I know they are each hungry and excited to get this new season kicked off with back-to-back events in Minnesota and then Cincinnati the following week."
Meanwhile, sophomore
Alex Rowland will represent the Trojans as an individual competitor at the Minnesota Golf Classic, held at Pioneer Creek Golf Course.
