PALM CITY, Fla. – Sophomore lara Martin capped a strong three-day showing with a two-under-par round Tuesday to lead Little Rock at the Advance Golf Partners Collegiate at Hammock Creek Golf Club.
The Argentina native finished the tournament tied for 12th at six-over par, finishing just one stroke shy of the top 10 in a competitive field.
"Lara was consistent and played well throughout the tournament," Little Rock head coach
Jenna Birch said. "She keeps improving and showed flashes of that in the fall."
As a team, the Trojans placed ninth at 30-over par, climbing three spots after opening the event in 12th following the first round.
"We played better each day," Birch said. "For it being the first tournament of the spring, I thought we did some good things. We need to keep working hard, improving, and getting better each tournament."
Eleonore Aernouts finished the event at five-over par to place 25th, while
Elvira Flodstrom delivered another strong round Tuesday, shooting even par to jump 20 spots into a tie for 43rd.
Little Rock returns to action Monday, Feb. 9, at the Thunderbird Intercollegiate in Tucson, Arizona.
