PALM CITY, Fla. — Little Rock sophomore lara Martin has been named the Ohio Valley Conference Female Golfer of the Week following her performance at the Advance Golf Partners Collegiate at Hammock Creek Golf Club.
"I'm really grateful for my results this past week," Martin said. "This wouldn't be possible without the support of my teammates and coaches."
Martin capped the three-day event with a two-under-par final round and finished tied for 12th at six-over par, narrowly missing a top-10 finish in a competitive field.
"If there was ever a player who deserved Player of the Week, it's Lara," Little Rock head coach
Jenna Birch said. "She's come a long way since arriving on campus as a freshman, and her development from day one to now is one of the best stories I've had as a coach.
"It's great to see the work she's putting in finally coming to fruition, and I truly believe this is the first of many awards and trophies she'll earn as a Trojan. She's playing with a lot of confidence right now, and we're excited to see how she performs this week in Arizona."
Little Rock returns to action Monday, Feb. 9, at the Thunderbird Intercollegiate in Tucson, Arizona.
