Trojans Set for Michael A. Marino Invitational at Dunes Golf & Beach Club

Little Rock Tees off Sunday

MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. – The Little Rock men's golf team will compete in a strong national field this week when it travels to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, for a three-day tournament hosted by Coastal Carolina University at the renowned Dunes Golf & Beach Club.

The event runs Sunday through Tuesday and features a strong field. Among the teams in the tournament are Louisville (No. 33), UNLV (No. 37) and Florida Gulf Coast (50).

"It's a quick turnaround this week as we head to Myrtle Beach to compete at the Dunes Golf & Beach Club against another solid field," Trojans head coach Austin Eoff said. "The Dunes Club will be a great test as it is a PGA Tour venue that hosts the ONEflight Myrtle Beach Classic in May.

"This is a golf course that should suit our team, as strong iron play is needed for success there, with multiple holes featuring longer approach shots into the greens. We will look to build off the positives from last week in Louisiana and continue to sharpen our skills on and around the greens this week."

The Trojans will also compete against Furman University, Kent State University, Liberty University, University of Missouri, University of Louisiana at Lafayette, College of Charleston, Florida Gulf Coast University, University of North Florida and University of Nevada, Las Vegas.

Little Rock's lineup will feature Ed FeatherstoneElliott SimonsenViggo TalasmakiRhett South, and Mark Stockdale, while Alexander Rowland will compete as an individual.

The Trojans enter the tournament with several players ranked nationally, led by Featherstone at No. 110 and Stockdale at No. 275. South (No. 321) and Talasmaki (No. 416) also give Little Rock depth heading into a challenging three days of competition.

The Dunes Golf & Beach Club is widely regarded as one of the premier golf courses along the East Coast. The coastal layout is known for its challenging greens, strategic bunkering and the influence of ocean winds, which can make scoring difficult for even the most experienced players.

With a deep and competitive field, the tournament will provide another opportunity for the Trojans to measure themselves against some of the nation's top programs while continuing to build momentum as the postseason approaches.
