LSU Opener
This marks Little Rock's first trip to LSU in program history and its first visit to Louisiana in recent years. The LSU Opener serves as the host program's outdoor season debut and features a competitive field of nine other schools, including in-state rival Arkansas State and several familiar former Sun Belt Conference opponents.
Coach's Perspective
"This is an exciting opportunity to open the outdoor season against some of the top programs in the country," said head coach
J.P. Behnke. "Competing at LSU for the first time, we expect a great environment, strong competition, and ideal weather conditions that will help bring out the best in our team. Even this early in the season, I believe we have athletes capable of qualifying for nationals."
Team Report
Most of the Trojans roster will compete this weekend, with the distance group sitting out as they prepare for the WashU Distance Carnival next week.
In the sprints, Little Rock is led by graduate standout
TaVieon Neal, who returns exclusively for the outdoor season after exhausting his indoor eligibility. Neal is one of the program's top 100-meter runners and has contributed to multiple school records.
With a strong returning core and confidence from the indoor season, the Trojans open their outdoor slate focused on building momentum toward another OVC Championship run.
