TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – Little Rock Women's Golf will once again compete on college golf's biggest postseason stage this week as the Trojans tee it up at Seminole Legacy Golf Club for the NCAA Tallahassee Regional, hosted by Florida State.
The appearance marks the second Ohio Valley Conference championship and NCAA Regional berth in the last three seasons for Little Rock, continuing the program's rise as one of the premier mid-major programs in the country.
Fresh off a dominant wire-to-wire OVC Championship performance, the Trojans enter the 12-team regional field as the No. 11 seed and will compete for one of five spots advancing to the NCAA Championships.
The regional field includes:
- Florida
- Wake Forest
- UCLA
- Florida State
- Eastern Michigan
- Kentucky
- Purdue
- Clemson
- ULM
- North Florida
- Little Rock
- UTRGV
Little Rock's success this season has been built on elite depth and consistency throughout the lineup, something reflected heavily in the conference postseason honors.
Junior
Eleonore Aernouts headlined the Trojans' award winners with OVC Player of the Year and All-OVC First Team recognition after capturing OVC medalist honors at the conference championship. Aernouts finished as the only player in the field to stay within single digits over par at Dalton Golf and Country Club.
She was joined on the All-OVC First Team by teammates
Iara Martin and
Elvira Flodstrom, giving Little Rock three first-team selections. Martin finished second individually at the OVC Championship after firing a final-round 1-under 71, while Cloé Poizac earned third-place honors at the conference tournament and was named All-OVC Second Team and All-OVC Newcomer Team.
Little Rock head coach
Jenna Birch was named OVC Coach of the Year after guiding the Trojans to another conference title and NCAA postseason appearance.
"This group has earned everything that's come their way this season," Birch said. "To win another OVC championship and return to regionals says a lot about the culture and standards these players have established. They compete for each other every single day."
The Trojans enter the regional after winning the OVC Championship by 19 shots at Dalton Golf and Country Club, showcasing the balanced lineup that has powered Little Rock throughout the spring season.
"We're excited for the challenge," Aernouts said. "This is where you want to be at the end of the year. We know the field is incredibly strong, but we believe in our team and the work we've put in all season."
Seminole Legacy Golf Club presents a premier championship test for the field. Formerly known as Don Veller Seminole Golf Course, the facility recently underwent a comprehensive redesign led by Nicklaus Design, transforming it into one of the nation's premier collegiate golf venues.
Originally opened in 1962 and designed by Bill Amick, the course has long served as the home of Florida State's men's and women's golf programs. The renovation included a nearly complete redesign of the layout, with only one hole remaining from the original routing. The updated course now stretches to nearly 7,800 yards as a par-72 layout, featuring rebuilt greens, bunkers, fairways and practice facilities.
The venue also includes a state-of-the-art clubhouse, upgraded practice areas and a dedicated 12-hole par-3 course designed specifically for player development.
Birch believes Little Rock's experience and chemistry could be a major factor this week.
"Our players have stayed incredibly composed in pressure situations all year," Birch said. "We've seen growth in every event this spring, and now we get another opportunity to represent Little Rock on a national stage."
The Tallahassee Regional begins Monday and runs through Wednesday at Seminole Legacy Golf Club, with the top five teams advancing to the NCAA Championships.
