TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – Little Rock Women's Golf closed another memorable season Wednesday at the NCAA Tallahassee Regional at Seminole Legacy Golf Club, battling through one of the nation's toughest postseason fields and finishing 12th overall.
The Trojans posted their best round of the tournament in the final 18 holes, carding a 24-over 312 after rounds of 315 and 327 earlier in the week. Little Rock finished the 54-hole regional at 90-over par.
The NCAA Regional appearance marked the second in the last three seasons for the Trojans following another dominant run through the Ohio Valley Conference Championship.
"We competed against some of the best teams in the country this week, and I'm proud of the way our team continued to fight," head coachÂ
Jenna Birch said. "This wasn't the finish we wanted, but getting back to the NCAA Regional says a lot about where this program is and what these players accomplished all season."
Little Rock showed improvement throughout the final round Wednesday after difficult weather conditions impacted the tournament earlier in the week, including multiple lengthy suspensions during Monday's opening rounds.
Cloé Poizac, who finished 56
th, Â led the Trojans in the final round with a 3-over 75. The sophomore put together a steady day with a 36 on the front nine before closing with a 39 on the back to finish the tournament at 18-over par.

t) Â added a 5-over 77 in the final round, helping the Trojans post their strongest team score of the week.Â

"We learned a lot this week," Birch said. "This group has meant so much to our program. They won a championship, handled pressure all spring and earned the opportunity to compete on this stage. Experiences like this help build the future of the program."
Wake Forest captured the regional championship at 8-under par, followed by Florida State (-4), Florida (-3), Eastern Michigan (+5) and Kentucky (+6), with those five teams advancing to the NCAA Championships.
The regional field featured six nationally ranked programs, including No. 3 Florida, No. 9 Wake Forest, No. 15 UCLA, No. 25 Florida State, No. 27 Eastern Michigan and No. 34 Kentucky.
