TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – Little Rock Women's Golf opened play Monday at the NCAA Tallahassee Regional at Seminole Legacy Golf Club, battling through a difficult opening round against one of the nation's strongest postseason fields.
The Trojans finished Round 1 at 27-over par and sit 12th entering Tuesday's second round in a regional featuring eight nationally ranked teams.
No. 3 Florida leads the field at 5-under, while No. 9 Wake Forest and host No. 25 Florida State are tied for second at 3-under. Eastern Michigan and ULM are tied for fourth at 1-under.
Little Rock was led by a trio of players tied for 56th individually at 6-over par 78. Ohio Valley Conference medalist
Eleonore Aernouts,
Fehild Graesel and Cloé Poizac each paced the Trojans in the opening round.
Aernouts put together one of the team's steadiest front nines, making the turn at 1-over before battling through a difficult closing stretch. Graesel and Poizac each carded matching 78s while navigating the challenging Seminole Legacy layout.
Iara Martin finished the day at 9-over par 81 and
Nina Pitsch added an 87 in the opening round.
"We definitely didn't have our best stuff today, but I'm proud of the way the team continued to battle through the round," Little Rock head coach
Jenna Birch said. "This golf course will test every part of your game, and we know we're capable of playing cleaner and more confidently tomorrow. The great thing about postseason golf is you get another opportunity the next day."
The Trojans are competing in their second NCAA Regional in the past three seasons after capturing the 2026 Ohio Valley Conference Championship in dominant fashion last month.
The top five teams at the conclusion of Wednesday's final round will advance to the NCAA Championships. Follow the live scoring
