LITTLE ROCK – The track and field season is upon us, as the Trojans begin their indoor schedule on Sunday at the A-State Kickoff Klassic.

Action begins at the Convocation Center at 1:30 p.m., and the meet continues through the evening with the 4x400 relays. Preliminary track events begin first with finals starting at 4 p.m., and field events will take place at 2 p.m.

This is meet will not be scored.
Live results will be available online, however.

At last year's Kickoff Klassic, the Trojans had four new top-10 times and had one event victory as
Jack Bruce claimed the men's 3K title.

Competing for the Trojans on Sunday will be sprinters

In the mid-distance events, Little Rock will be represented by
Angelica Jacobs,
Rebeca Solis and
Joseph Aguilar.

Distance runs will be undertaken by Trojans
Adela Hernandez,
Isaac Lalang,
Methuselah Lagat,
Kenneth Broyles,
Alberto Herrera and
Kennedy Chumba. Lalang is coming off a cross country season that saw him compete at the NCAA Championship, becoming just the third Trojan to ever do so.

Josh Jones will race in the men's 55-meter hurdles as the team's only hurdler on Sunday.

The Trojans will also have two 4x400 relay teams on the women's side and one on the men's side.

For field events,
Tyra Gillam will compete in the long jump and triple jump while
Desmond Gulley,
Nghia Dinh,
Victor Shores and
Terance Goodwin will compete in the long jump for the men. Gulley, Dinh and Shores are also scheduled to compete in the triple jump.

Sunday will be the first of two indoor meets for Little Rock at the Convocation Center, as the team will return to action after a winter break hiatus. The Trojans will compete again on Jan. 22-23 at the Arkansas State Invite at the same facility.
