LITTLE ROCK – The Little Rock Cross Country team hosts the Little Rock Invitational Saturday morning at the
Rebsamen Golf Course for its regular season finale. The men's 8k will take place at 10 a.m. and the women's 5k will begin at 10:45 a.m.
Little Rock's Team will contend with Arkansas State, Arkansas Tech, The University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff, Central Arkansas, Georgia State, Jacksonville State, Oral Roberts and many other schools from a variety of divisions at the event.
Last year,
Emilio Medina and
Rogelio Araiza placed sixth and eighth, respectively, and the team won each of its duals against UAPB, Oral Roberts, Central Arkansas and Arkansas State.
Medina, finishing 146
th out of 441 runners, was the Trojans best finisher at the team's previous meet, the 30
th Annual Chile Pepper Cross Country Festival, with
Anthony Puerta and
Ricardo Banks II finishing closely behind and
Shanieke Watson placing 21
st on the women's side in the 424-runner field. The men finished ninth amongst D1 teams and the women placed 10
th.
