LITTLE ROCK – Senior
Shanieke Watson headlined for the Little Rock Cross country program with a second-place finish, posting a season-best time of 17:38.1, as it hosted the Little Rock Invitational at the Rebsamen Golf Course Saturday morning. As a team, the women finished fourth overall with a score of 135 and the men finished 6
th with a score of 153.
In the women's 5K,
Hunter Paul also claimed a top-10 finish, placing seventh at 18:18.5,
Vianney Sanchez finished 19
th (18:54.1),
Hannah Manning was positioned 22
nd (18:59.5) and Kimberly Boni rounded out the Trojans for 98
th (21:20.9). This is the third time this season that Watson has finished in the top-five on the year.
In the men's 8K,
Emilio Medina notched a top-25 finish, placing 13
th out of the 122 runner field at 26:10.4.
Ricardo Banks II, coming in 30
th, was next for the Trojans (26:46.6) and was followed by
Rogelio Araiza in 34
th (26:51.4),
Carter Reynolds at 37
th (26.53.8) and
Hunter Tucker in 40
th (26.57.7). The men posted a spread of on 47.3 seconds, the best of the 13 teams in the invitational.
With the regular season behind them, the Trojans will next compete at the Sun Belt Conference Championship on Oct. 27 in Mobile, Ala.
