Arola Aparicio Gili has received Sun Belt Conference Offensive Player of the Week honors for her impressive performances over the weekend, announced today by league officials.
Aparicio Gili netted two goals over the weekend, scoring the lone Trojan goal in the first match against Central Arkansas while tallying a goal and an assist against Kentucky. The Spanish forward racked up five points which currently leads the Sun Belt. She is also tied for the conference lead in goals scored.
A two-time First Team All-Sun Belt selection, Aparicio Gili is receiving Player of the Week honors for the first time in her career. With her performance over the weekend, the senior has reached 30 points for her career.
The Trojans are still looking for their first win of the season as they continue their nonconference schedule. Little Rock will return to action Aug. 24 when they travel to Springfield, Mo. to take on Missouri State.
