JONESBORO, Ark. – Little Rock's indoor season continued with more impressive performances as the Trojans competed at the Arkansas State Invitational at First National Bank Arena. Little Rock ended the one day meet with 24 top-10 event finishes, going head-to-head with seven other schools from around the region.

Beginning with the field events in the early afternoon,
Nghia Dinh began his impressive afternoon with a runner-up finish in the men's triple jump with a mark of 13.95 meters.
Max Holzmueller placed in the top-10 in two events, finishing fourth in the high jump (1.87 meters) and seven in the pole vault (4.18 meters).
Ryan Amador also tallied a pair of top-10 finishes, placing eighth in the weight throw (13.89 meters) and 10th in the shot put (12.34 meters). On the women's side,
Nicole Edison posted a mark of 5.05 meters in the long jump with
Bria Allen measuring 4.83 meters, finishing sixth and ninth, respectively.
Later in the afternoon, the running events began, starting with the 55 meter dash. Dinh was the top Trojan finisher, placing sixth with a time of 6.62, just ahead of
Ch'kilas Calhoun's 6.68, finising seventh. On the women's side,
Aaliyah Lacy posted the fastest time in the qualifying heats with a 7.23, eventually placing fourth with a time of 7.30. Allen finishes sixth with a mark of 7.41.
The Trojans had a strong showing in the mile runs as three of the top-10 finishers on the men's side wore Little Rock uniforms. That group was led by
Emilio Medina placing third (4:28.99), just ahead of
Noah Smith (4:28.99) in fifth and
Ricardo Banks II (4:32.05) in ninth. On the women's side, Shanieke Watson registered a runner-up finish with a time of 5:02.72 while
Vianney Sanchez placed eighth with a mark of 5:25.64.
In the 400 meter dash, Little Rock notched an event champion as NCAA qualifier Charles Ozeke won the event with a time of 48.75. Calhoun then found his way into the top-10 for the second time on the afternoon, placing eighth in the men's 200 meter dash (22.87) while Jessica Gray finished sixth on the women's side (26.54) and Allen placed eighth (26.75) for her second top-10 event finish.
Little Rock's final individual top-10 finishers came in the 5,000 meter run with
Anthony Puerta (16:08.62) and
Hannah Manning (18:58.95) both finishing third in their respective races.
The meet concluded with the 4x400 meter relays as Little Rock finished fourth on both the men's and women's side. The men's team, comprised of
Jalen Black,
Noah Smith,
Hunter Tucker and
Ch'kilas Calhoun, registered a time of 3:23.34, while the Little Rock women posted a time of 4:01.10, comprised of Christina Nickerson, Sierra Towlers, Dasia Harris and
Ka'Neisha Jackson.
With the one day meet in the books, Little Rock has now competed in three of its four events during the indoor season that lead up to the Sun Belt Conference Championships. The Trojans return to action next week, heading to South Bend, Indiana, to compete in the Meyo Invitational, hosted by Notre Dame, February 1-2.
