LITTLE ROCK – Morgan Smocovich has been named a Second Team All-Sun Belt honoree, as announced by the Sun Belt Conference on Tuesday. This marks the first time that the senior has received a postseason award during her career as well as the eighth year in a row that the Trojans have placed a member of the squad on an all-league team.
Smocovich was key in providing ball movement and leg power to create depth for Little Rock's offensive game and find success on set plays. The senior midfielder started in all 12 games in the shortened 2020 season, playing 1,108 minutes out of a possible 1,153, and finished with three assists and one game-winning goal.
The senior's contributions always elevated the team. Smocovich's goal against Texas State helped the Trojans defeat the Bobcats for the first time during the regular season.
In the Sun Belt Tournament, she was a huge part of Little Rock's success. Her well-placed corner kick helped the Trojans to get on the board first in the win against Georgia Southern in the First Round. In the Quarterfinals, a smart pass upfield led to an equalizing goal against South Alabama.
Smocovich wraps up her senior season by writing her name in the Little Rock record books, ranking third in program history for career assists with 15 total.
