Collier, Battle Claim All-Sun Belt Honors

NEW ORLEANS – Little Rock had two Trojans honored Monday as Kyra Collier and Teal Battle were named to the Sun Belt's All-Conference Teams. Receiving the 32nd and 33rd honors in program history, respectively, Little Rock has had an all-conference honoree in each of the 17 years Joe Foley has guided the program.

Collier was named to the first team marking the seventh consecutive year a Little Rock player has received first team honors while Battle claimed third team honors.

Receiving all-conference honors for the second year in a row, Collier has placed her name throughout the entire Trojan record book and was one of the most prolific players in the Sun Belt Conference this season. Earlier this year, she became just the second player in Little Rock history and third active Division I player to record over 1,000 points, 500 rebounds, 300 assists and 200 steals in her career, and she ranks in the top-10 in Little Rock's career charts in all four categories. This season, she is averaging a school record 38.2 minutes per game while leading the Trojans with 14.6 points per game an astonishing 68 steals.

Battle leads the team this season with 163 rebounds and is second on the team with an average of 13.7 points per game. But as she has continued to work the paint and teams have repeatedly fouled her, she continues to make them pay. Her 125 free throws made ranks 40th nationally and is the second-most in school history as she went 12-for-12 at the charity stripe Saturday against South Alabama. Battle was named the Sun Belt's Player of the Week following a dominating performance in Trojan wins over ULM and Appalachian State back in January.

Little Rock enters the Sun Belt Tournament this year as the No. 5 seed and will face eighth-seeded Appalachian State on Tuesday, March 10 at 3 p.m. This will mark the fourth consecutive year the two teams will meet in conference tournament play. Tuesday's game will be held at the Cajundome in Lafayette, Louisiana and will be broadcast live on ESPN+.
