COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - The College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) has selected the Little Rock swimming and diving team for Scholar All-American honors. Little Rock was one of 461 schools across all three NCAA Divisions and the NAIA to receive the award for the Spring semester, making it the 14th consecutive semester for the Trojans to receive the recognition. The full list of schools can be found
here.
Under head coach
Amy Burgess, the swimming and diving team posted an impressive grade point average of 3.62 this Spring, the third-best team GPA in the entire athletic department. Their efforts helps Little Rock earn a department-wide cumulative GPA of 3.41, the 16th-straight year that the Trojans were above 3.00 as a whole. In addition, 14 members of the swim and dive team recorded a perfect 4.0 in Spring 2020, the most of any Little Rock program. Those student-athletes are listed below.
CSCAA Executive Director Greg Earhart mentioned the efforts of Coach Burgess, noting that "No team was unaffected by this Spring's pandemic but Athletic Director
George Lee and Chancellor Christy Drale can and should be proud of their team and the work of Amy."
Additional institutional adjustments to grading systems resulted in GPAs nearly one-quarter letter grade higher than previously. As a result, the CSCAA will not be publishing team GPAs. This Semester's list also does not include teams at institutions that switched entirely to pass/fail grading.
