LITTLE ROCK - The Trojans are ready to rock the blocks at the 2021 Missouri Valley Conference (MVC) Swimming and Diving Championships this week, with the three-day event beginning on Wednesday, April 14 and concluding on Friday, April 16 at the Shea Natatorium in Carbondale, Illinois. The young Little Rock team, made up of 16 underclassmen out of the 20 competing swimmers, looks to finish higher than their number seven pick in the pre-championship poll.

"33 weeks ago we began this season's journey together and questioned many times if we would make it to this week," said head coach
Amy Burgess, who has guided Little Rock through perhaps one of the most unique seasons in school history. "Here we stand, having already accomplished some great feats, but more so grown together into to a stronger Trojan family. This team is ready to turn some heads and show the MVC what hard work, dedication, and Trojan GRIT is all about."
Some of those great feats include four Little Rock school records by
Annya Grom, who leads the team with three top-16 seeds in the preliminary psych sheet prior to scratches.

Fer Moussier in both the 200 fly (6th) and 100 fly (9th) as well as breaststroke duo
Palmer Ristroph and
Karina Harr. Senior Ristroph sits 11th in the 200 breast and 13th in the 100 breast while freshman Harr rounds out the top 16 in both races. Finally,
Regan Lawrence (10th, 100 free),
Gabriella O'Neil (200 free, 11th), and
Lexie Shelton (1650, 15th) each have one race seeded in the top 16.
