Trojans win 14 events in all on Saturday

CONWAY, Ark. – Little Rock won 14 gold medals, seven of which came from the women in an effort that saw them beat UCA and win the Richard Martin Jr Invitational as action wrapped up in the annual track meet in Conway Saturday afternoon.

Of the 18 medalists and numerous scorers for the Trojan women on Saturday that propelled Little Rock to the win, it was the 200m that stood out above all. Holland also won silver in the 100m as she ran 12.14 but broke through for gold anchoring the women's 4x100m relay that won with a time of 46.73, the sixth-fastest time in school history. She was joined by Gabby Ayiteyfio, Aaliyah Lacy and Landri Schreier in the effort.

They then flipped that order in the high jump with McNeal claiming gold as she cleared 5-4.75 (1.63m) with a mark that tied for fifth in school history while Clark earned silver, jumping 5-1 (1.55m).

Another 1-2 finish for Little Rock came in the pole vault as Ludovica Polini cleared 10-11.75 (3.35m) to win while Lauren Hurrell cleared 10-6 (3.20m) to earn silver. Those rank as the second- and fourth-best marks in school history, respectively.

Aaliyah Mathis scored plenty for the Trojans in her first collegiate meet, winning the discus throw with the second-best mark in school history with a throw of 144-6 (44.04m) then she finished second in the shot put as her throw of 42-8 (13.00m) ranks seventh in school history.

On the men's side, Desmond Frazier set a new school record in the shot put as his throw of 52-10.25 (16.11m) claimed gold while Casey Griffin earned bronze with a throw of 48-5.25 (14.76m).
