Little Rock Picked to Finish Fourth in OVC Preseason Poll

BRENTWOOD, Tenn. – Little Rock Soccer was selected to finish fourth in the program's first season as members of the Ohio Valley Conference as announced in its preseason projected order of finish for the 2022 season. Fifth year senior Natalee Geren was chosen as an OVC Player to Watch in the league's preseason release.as voted on by head coaches and communication directors, as well as players to watch for each team. 
 
The Trojans were polled to finish fourth in the conference, slightly ahead of Southeast Missouri and just below Tennessee Tech. SIUE and UT Martin are predicted to be at the top of the OVC with SIUE getting the slight edge in first place votes. Southern Indiana and Lindenwood, newcomers to Division I soccer, filled out the bottom of the rankings.
 
Geren made an appearance on the OVC Preseason Players to Watch list. For the past four seasons she has played a key role in the Little Rock defensive unit which has produced 32 shutouts. Over the past three years she has started all but three games for the Trojans and has accumulated more than 5,600 minutes played in her collegiate career. 
 
A native of Round Rock, Texas, Geren is also on pace to become the all-time leader in games played in by the end of the season, and is the final remaining player from the 2018 team that made the programs only postseason appearance.
 
The league's preseason order of finish and the list of players to watch were chosen by a vote of the head coaches and communication directors from each OVC member institution. 
 
Little Rock opens the regular season on Thursday, Oct. 18 when the Trojans play at No. 22 Memphis as new head coach Kelly Farrell makes her head coaching debut. The Trojans have one more exhibition scheduled in the preseason, taking on Northwestern State on Saturday, Aug. 13, in Natchitoches, Louisiana at 2 p.m.
