Pair of Trojans Garner OVC Player of the Week Awards

Urban and Geren receive goalkeeper and defensive player of the week honors

BRENTWOOD, Tenn. – Little Rock goalkeeper Peyton Urban and defender Natalee Geren have been named Ohio Valley Conference Goalkeeper of the Week and Defensive Player of the Week, respectively, the league announced Tuesday.

These are the first weekly honors awarded to the Little Rock soccer program this season. This also marks the first time that any Trojan student-athlete has received an OVC Player of the Week award as the school joined the conference on July 1.

It is the first time Little Rock has received multiple Player of the Week honors in the same week since 2016 when Harrison Hayworth (Offensive) and Sara Small (Defensive) were recognized by the Sun Belt Conference after three wins in a single week.

Peyton Urban

Urban, a true freshman, recorded two shutouts on the week to bring her career total to three in just four career games played. On Thursday she faced 12 shots with five saves against Oral Roberts in a game that ended in a scoreless draw. The Austin, Texas native followed that performance with another five saves on 18 shots faced in a draw at Arkansas State on Sunday, marking Little Rock's first point recorded in Jonesboro in seven years.

This past week brings Urban's total number of saves on the season to 15 with an .833 save percentage and a goals against average of just .750.

Natalee Geren

Geren, a fifth-year senior, played a key defensive role for the Trojans over the past week in those games against Oral Roberts and defending Sun Belt Champion Arkansas State. She played all but two minutes for Little Rock on the week while registering four shots, including one on goal.

The Round Rock, Texas native leads the Maroon and Silver in minutes played (448), shots on goal (6) and assists (2) this year.

Little Rock is back in action this Friday as they host Louisiana Tech at the Coleman Sports Complex at 6 p.m. for the program's annual Bark in the Park Night where Trojan fans are encouraged to bring their four-legged friends. Sunday marks Senior Day as Little Rock hosts Grambling at 1 p.m. with the team's senior class getting recognized in a postgame ceremony.
