"I'm very excited to get a chance to take a Little Rock diver back to zones for the first time in a few years," said diving coach
Chris Pape. "It's a big competition and we will be going up against some of the best in the country. We have a great opportunity to get some name recognition for Little Rock."
Apodaca qualified for the meet in November, earning herself Missouri Valley Conference (MVC) Diver of the Week honors in the process. Read more about her accolade

"Kyra is ready to continue her success from MVC Championships," he added. "We got a chance to go back home and work for a few weeks to make some last minute tweaks. This meet is also a bit of a homecoming for her as a Houston area native, so I know she's excited to show off the progress she's made this year."
Apodaca won the B final of the 1-meter board and placed sixth overall on the 3-meter board at the MVC Championships last month, becoming the first Little Rock diver to earn team points at a conference championships since 2020. This week's competition will cap off a successful season for the diving squad, which continues to rebuild under Coach Pape since his addition to the Little Rock swimming and diving program last season.
