TUNICA, Mississippi — The Little Rock Women's Golf team wrapped up the first day of the OVC Championships Sunday with a handful of awards and plenty of recognition during the awards dinner and banquet at Tunica National.
Â
Four team members earned All-OVC honors just hours after storming out to a nine-stroke lead over the rest of the field in the first round of play. Three girls were named All-OVC, two were named to the All-OVC Newcomer Team, and one of the Trojans picked up the first superlative to be handed out by the conference.
Â
Eleonore Aernouts was named OVC Freshman of the Year and received All-OVC and All-OVC Newcomer recognition.
Anna Dawson – the overall individual leader after Sunday's opening round – and
Agatha Alesson were also named to the All-OVC Team.
Fehild Graesel joined Aernouts on the All-OVC Newcomer Team. Dawson and Alesson picked up their second All-OVC selections after making the team a year ago.
Â
Aernouts is the top-ranked freshman entering the OVC Championships and a two-time OVC Golfer of the Week winner. She ranks fourth in the OVC in stroke average at 74.3 and is the first player from Little Rock to win the award.

The OVC Player of the Year and OVC Coach of the Year awards will be determined after the completion of the tournament and awarded at Tuesday's ceremony.
