Four golfers selected for WGCA All-American Scholar list

The Little Rock Women's Golf team has proven all year that being a champion on the field of competition and excelling in the classroom go hand in hand for these Trojans. The Women's Golf Coaches Association (WGCA) acknowledged that again Monday with the release of its 2023-24 All-American Scholars, which included four members of the Ohio Valley Conference championship team.
 
Little Rock senior Viktoria Krnacova, junior Katja Mueller and freshmen Eleonore Aernouts and Fehild Graesel were each chosen as recipients for an award that comes with some of the most stringent criteria in all of college athletics.
 
"I'm extremely proud of the four Trojans that have managed to achieve the WGCA All-American Scholar honor. Viktoria and Katja have earned it every single year and Eleonore and Fehild have earned it their very first year as freshman," said Little Rock head coach Jenna Birch. "This honor just shows the hard work that they all put in in the classroom whether that is in the classroom when in Little Rock or whilst on the road when traveling to tournaments. I've seen these girls studying in the van, on planes, in airports and after rounds, so it's great to see them being recognized for their dedication to academics. Academic success is a key component of the women's golf program."
 
In order to receive the award, a student-athlete must have an overall cumulative grade point average of 3.50 or higher, be on the team roster through the conclusion of the season, and compete in 50 percent of the school's regularly scheduled competitive rounds during the year nominated through the team's conference championship.
 
The Women's Golf program posted a 3.88 combined GPA for the 2023-24 academic year, with a 3.92 in the spring semester. The team had five members make the Chancellor's List and another on the Dean's List.
