JONESBORO, Ark. – The Little Rock women's golf team made program history Monday afternoon at the
Lady Red Wolves Classic, firing a
5-under team score at
Sage Meadows Golf Club to sit in
second place after 36 holes.
Louisiana-Monroe leads the field at
17-under, while
Memphis trails the Trojans by three shots heading into Tuesday's final round.
"That was a great team effort today," said
Little Rock head coach Jenna Birch. "We've played some really challenging courses and strong competition this fall, and you could see that experience pay off. Our team has worked hard over the past two weeks to prepare for this tournament, and it showed with an excellent 36 holes."
Eleonore Aernouts is tied for the
individual lead after posting
6-under through two rounds, matching
UAB's Lauren Paige Slatton at the top of the leaderboard.
"Eleonore had two great rounds and put herself in a fantastic position," Birch said. "If she plays tomorrow the way she did today, she'll have a great chance to win the tournament."
Cloe Poizac and
Elvira Flodstrom are both at
even par and tied for
19th, while
Lara Martin sits at
2-over.
The
final round of the Lady Red Wolves Classic tees off
