JONESBORO, Ark. – Little Rock junior
Eleonore Aernouts continued her strong fall season with a runner-up finish Tuesday at the
Lady Red Wolves Classic, hosted at Sage Meadows Golf Club. Aernouts shot
6-under par across three rounds, finishing three strokes behind
ULM's Tessa Ion, who claimed medalist honors at
9-under.
"Eleonore had a great performance. She played well all three rounds, and her first two rounds were exceptional," said head coach
Jenna Birch. "I'm very proud of her effort and the fact she challenged for the title."
As a team, the
Trojans finished
fifth at
4-over par, just one shot behind
Morehead State and
West Georgia (tied for third), and two shots back of
Memphis, which placed second at
1-over.
ULM won the event with a commanding
19-under team score.
Elvira Flodström finished at
2-over, placing
23rd, while
Lara Martin carded a
4-over and
Cloé Poizac closed at
6-over.
Little Rock now turns its attention to the
Diamante Intercollegiate, the team's final tournament of the fall, which it will host
October 19–21 at
Diamante Country Club in
Hot Springs Village.
"We look forward to this event every year and get tremendous community support," Birch said. "We have some things to work on before Sunday, but we will, and we're excited to compete against a quality field on a great course."
