WAUKEE, IA. – Another day, another pair of school records shattered for the Little Rock swimming and diving team.
Jaelle Carlson reset her record in the 100 butterfly, while
Adara Stoddard shined once again, lowering the 100 breaststroke record in the finals. To top it off, the 200 free relay broke the record once again, securing third place on the podium to close out the evening.
The team qualified 16 swimmers to finals. The depth on the Trojan roster has helped turn in 533.5 points so far.
"It was a great day for the Trojans with three school records on the day and finished up with some phenomenal diving from Kyra and Delaney in the B final and our A 200 free relay finishing third." said hed coach Nathan Townsend.
"Lots to look forward to tomorrow as We always finish strong. After all… Saturdays are for the Trojans"

200 Freestyle Relay
The team
Jaelle Carlson,
Lauren Pieniazkiewicz,
Olivia Elgin and
Elena Nikolaeva posted a time of 1:30.83, lowering the school record by a full second. Three Trojans split under 23 seconds with a relay start, all faster than the quickest split at last year's championship. Pieniazkiewicz's anchor leg of 22.53 helped propel Little Rock to a third-place finish.
100 Butterfly
In her second podium appearance of the week,
Jaelle Carlson secured fifth place in the 100 butterfly for the second year in a row. The junior posted a season-best time of 55.44, just one-tenth of a second off her own school record set this morning.
400 IM
Sophomore
Niamh Carroll took to the stage as the sole Trojan representative in the event. She raced valiantly and secured 8th place in the C Final, finishing just two seconds off her prelim time with a 4:44.51.
200 Freestyle
Continuing to lead the Trojans in mid-distance events,Olivia Elgin posted a time of 1:48.35 to take second place in the A Final, finishing just under five-tenths off her record. Fifth-year Gabriella O'Neil raced to a seventh-place finish, clocking 1:49.99—just two-tenths off her best time in the A Final.
Senior Gillian Boggs made up impressive ground to finish fifth in the C Final with a time of 1:52.89, while freshman Carol Heinz followed closely behind, placing seventh in 1:52.93 to secure valuable points for the Trojans.
100 Breaststroke
All of the Trojans advanced to the finals in the 100 breaststroke, with Cheryl Poulsen and Erma Duratovic leading the way in the C Final. Duratovic secured third place with a lifetime-best time of 1:05.76, while Poulsen followed closely behind, finishing seventh in 1:06.90.
Senior Lauren Pieniazkiewicz placed fifth in the B Final, clocking a 1:03.89, while freshman Anna Nishizaki rounded out the final with an eighth-place finish in 1:05.88.
Sophomore Adara Stoddard braved the A Final alone but didn't let that deter her, racing to a new school record time of 1:02.06. She finished fifth, moving up three positions to gain valuable points for the team and cap off the individual events for the evening.
100 Backstroke
Winning the B Final with a season-best time of 55.48,
Caitlin Romprey led the backstrokers in her signature event. She was joined by
Beatriz Comini Romero, who made her first B Final appearance and delivered a lifetime-best performance of 55.55 to secure second place.
In the C Final, sophomore
Elena Nikolaeva delivered standout performances in the morning to earn a spot in the evening race. Hess set a lifetime-best time of 57.50 in the finals, finishing 19th overall.
3 Meter Diving
On the 3M this evening, we saw two Trojans qualify for the B final, where senior
Kyra Apodaca made the final competition of her career worth it, diving to first place with a score of 280.50, while
Delaney Nickles finished second with 258.50.
