LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – Little Rock soccer has added Alex Burgess to its coaching staff as an assistant. Burgess, who most recently worked with the Little Rock Rangers, brings 17 years of experience in club and semi-professional soccer.
Burgess joins head coach
Kelly Farrell in leading the Trojans' women's soccer program and has already joined the team for the first two regular-season games.
"I am excited for the opportunity to coach at the collegiate level and to be part of a program with tremendous potential. I look forward to learning from Coach Kelly and working together to drive the growth and future success of Little Rock women's soccer," Burgess said.
Farrell continued to praise Burgess and is excited to have him on the team.
"I'm really excited about bringing Alex on board. I wanted to bring in someone who would help to continue to elevate the program. Alex is a great on field coach but more importantly he's someone of high character who values relationship building within the program. He's already fit in seamlessly and I'm looking forward to his future with the program, said Farrell.
Burgess recently helped guide the Little Rock Rangers women's side to a national final in his first season under his leadership. The Rangers team featured five Little Rock soccer student-athletes: senior
Serenity Thake, senior
Emma Beattie, junior
Candice Kilderry, junior
Megan Rogan, and sophomore
Maria Schuller.
"Working with the five UALR players over the summer was such an incredible experience. We developed such a strong rapport, and I was blown away by their work ethic, mentality, and commitment to success. I am looking forward to continuing to work with them and the entire team at UALR," Burgess said.
