. – The Little Rock women's golf team completed the opening day of the ULM Invitational Monday at Bayou Desiard Country Club, sitting 10th after 36 holes in a competitive 14-team field.
The Trojans posted rounds of +16 and +11 to finish the day at +27 overall, improving by five strokes in the second round.
"We made some good adjustments as the day went on," Little Rock head coach
Jenna Birch said. "Our second round was cleaner, and that's something we can build on heading into tomorrow."
Eleonore
Aernouts led the Trojans through the first two rounds, sitting tied for 13th at +2 overall after rounds of 71 and 73. The junior was been steady throughout the day and remains in position to climb the
leaderboard in the final round.
Iara Martin is 26th at +6 overall following consistent play across both rounds, while
Cloe Poizac sits 35th at +8. Fehild
Graesel is tied for 49th at +11 through 36 holes, and
Elvira Flodstrom rounds out the team scoring in 70th at +17.
Competing as individuals,
Nina Pitsch is tied for 49th at +11, while
Petra Balkovec is 53rd at +12 heading into Tuesday's final round.
Host ULM leads the field at +1, followed by Samford (+6) and Houston Christian (+16).
"We know we're capable of more, and tomorrow is a great opportunity to go out and put together a complete round," Birch said. "If we stay patient and execute, we can make a move."
The final round of the ULM Invitational is set for Tuesday.
