ResultsMANHATTAN, Kan. – The Little Rock women's golf team placed eighth with a team score of 929 at the Marilynn Smith Sunflower Invitational at Colbert Hills Golf Course.
SMU won the event with a team score of 873, followed closely by TCU (875) and Middle Tennessee (882).
SMU's Lindsey McCurdy took home individual medalist honors after closing the tournament with a 6-under 66 in Tuesday's final round to finish at 2 under par. Avery George of Middle Tennessee, who began the day in first place, finished a stroke back at 1 under par to claim runner-up honors.
Sabrina Bonanno led the Trojans, finishing in a tie for 21
st place at 11 over par.
Stina Resen closed the tournament with a 3-over 75 to finish at 16 over par and tied for 30
th place.
Hannah Ward carded a 12-over 84 in her final round to drop her into a tie for 32
nd place at 17 over for the event.
Pernille Orlien rounded out Little Rock's scoring at 24 over par after closing with a 3-over 75 on Tuesday.
Little Rock returns to action at the Johnie Imes Invitational in Columbia, Mo., starting Sept. 28.
