CORAL GABLES, Fla. – Another week of competition for Little Rock's
Mia Dunning and another win for the Wisconsin native. Dunning set a new school record to win the hammer throw and finished second in the shot put at the Miami Hurricanes Invitational Saturday.

Dunning led a standout day for Little Rock as the Trojans compiled five wins in all and 18 finishes in the top three, surprising the host Hurricanes in several meets.

Her throw of 177-3 (54.02m) set a new school record in the hammer throw as she claimed gold while finishing second in the shot put with a mark of 43-4.25 (13.21m), the fifth-best throw in school history.
Alison Stephens finished fourth in the hammer with a throw of 144-4 (44.01m) and fifth in the discus with a throw of 132-11 (40.52m), both of which rank third in school history.

Then the men's 4x100m relay overtook Miami down the final stretch as Little Rock's
Cameron Jackson passed Miami's Ramy Berberena in the final 50 meters, claiming gold with a time of 40.66. The Trojan relay was led off by
Cogan DeRousselle and included
Caleb Chevis and
Andre Dibbles before being handed off to Jackson for the thrilling win.

DeRousselle, which got Little Rock's relay off to a fast start, posted a time of 21.47 in the 200m to finish second.

Little Rock's women's 4x100m relay was nearly as successful, finishing second with a time of 46.55. The quartet of
Brandi Allen,
Aaliyah Lacy,
Maliyah Holland and
Teresa Thomas tied the second-fastest time in school history. Allen would finish third in the 100m dash with a personal-best time of 12.21 while Thomas was the runner-up in the long jump with a mark of 18-7 (5.66m), a jump that ranks fourth in school history.

Spencer Cardinal garnered attention for his performance in the 1,500m run. A week after a 10K performance that claimed Sun Belt Men's Track Athlete of the Week honors, the freshman wowed once again with a time of 4:01.64 to place second.

The Trojans dominated the men's high jump as
Johnathan Jones set a new school record and won the event by clearing a height of 6-11.5 (2.12m) while
Christian Matamoros finished second with a mark of 6-.75 (2.02m), a mark that ranks third in school history.

Ricardo Banks dominated the 800m, running the race in 1:53.16 to set the ninth-fastest time in school history. A sophomore, Banks won the race by more than 5.5 seconds.

Another impressive win for Little Rock came min the men's 400m where
Phillip Anderson won with the seventh-fastest time in school history, posting 47.70 for gold.
Jalen Black was edged at the finish for third, running 48.74. In the women's 400m,
Helensia Green finished second with a time of 57.12.

Little Rock now returns home to host the Little Rock Open on Saturday, April 10 at the Coleman Sports Complex.
