Krnacova, Gachaga Among Top-20 As Trojans Sit Fourth in Georgia

Little Rock's 294 in round two is its second-lowest round of the season

LITTLE ROCK – Little Rock is tied for fourth after two rounds of the Georgia State Panther Invitational, led by a pair of players in the top-20. Viktoria Krnacova is tied for 10th and Kellie Gachaga is tied for 16th, guiding Little Rock to a 25-over 601 after 36 holes.

Little Rock opened the tournament with a 19-over 307, sitting tied for sixth among the 16-team field after 18 holes. Krnacova was the top Trojan finisher in round one, posting a 1-over 73, followed by a 3-over 75 from Gachaga.
 
The Trojans then responded in round two, firing a 6-over 294 over the second 18 holes, tied for the fourth-lowest round of the day among the field and Little Rock's second-lowest round of the season.
 
Four Trojans finished with a 75 or lower in the afternoon round, led by a 1-under 71 from Agatha Alesson, a new career-low for the freshman. Krnacova and Gachaga both carded a 2-over 74 with Malena Austerslaatt finishing with a 3-over 75.
 
Through 36 holes, Krnacova finds herself tied for 10th individually at 3-over 147, two shots better than Gachaga's 5-over 149, sittiing in a tie for 16th. Alesson sits just outside the individual top-20 in a tie for 22nd, posting a 7-over 151.
 
Austerslaatt is tied for 33rd after two rounds with a 10-over 154, 10 shots better than Sydney Scraba's 20-over 164 after she posted an 81-83 on day one.
 
Little Rock enters Tuesday's final round at the top of a congested field as five strokes separate fourth from ninth. The Trojans are one shot ahead of fifth-place Florida International (26-over 602), three shots ahead of sixth-place Georgia State (28-over 604) and hold a four shot edge on both Seton Hall and High Point, who are tied for seventh (29-over 605).
 
Xavier holds the team lead after two rounds at 7-over 583, one shot ahead of second-place Jacksonville State's 8-over 584. Kennesaw State is third (12-over 588), holding a 13-shot advantage on the fourth-place Trojans.
 
Tuesday's final round will once again begin with a 7:30 a.m. CT shotgun start as the Trojans will play together as a team, beginning again on hole 14. Live scoring is available at GolfStat.com.
