COLLEGE STATION, Texas – Little Rock freshman
Johnathan Jones matched performances by athletes from Iowa and Texas A&M as the Trojan high jumper finished tied for 36
th at the NCAA West Preliminary Championships in College Station Friday afternoon.
Jones cleared a height of 6-9 (2.06m) as he equaled the performance of Iowa's Zack Pluff and Texas A&M's Mason Corbin in the meet.
This marked the first time Jones has competed at an NCAA Championship round. He missed qualifying for the NCAA Indoor Track and Field Championships by one spot and 0.01 meters.
Jones' performance concludes the 2021 outdoor season for Little Rock.
