Stephens Places Fifth at Canada Olympic Trials

MONTREAL, Quebec – Little Rock's Alison Stephens finished fifth in the discus throw at the Canada Olympic Trials Sunday.

Stephens, who just finished her second year with the Trojans, threw 139-8 (42.58m) to place fifth overall in the competition. It marked her first-ever Olympic trials competition.

She entered the competition with a personal-best throw of 156-11 (47.83m) in the discus, a mark she set at the Sun Belt Championships. That personal-best mark set a new school record at Little Rock.

Canada's Olympic Trials were held at Complex sportif Claude-Robillard in Montreal.
