Krnacova, Trojans Make Mark in Record Book at USA Intercollegiate

Viktoria Krnacova shot a 4-under 68 as Little Rock goes even par

MOBILE, Ala. – Viktoria Krnacova's 4-under 68 tied the fifth-lowest round in program history as Little Rock shot an even-par 288 over the final round of the USA Intercollegiate at Magnolia Grove Crossings Golf Club. The Trojans close out the three-day event at 17-over 881, finishing seventh among the 17-team field.

Little Rock etched its name into the program record book with its efforts over the weekend. The 881 is the fourth-lowest 54-hole tournament score in program history, and the lowest for Little Rock since the 10-over 874 at the 2014-15 Johnie Imes Invitational. Monday's even-par 288 is tied for the sixth-lowest team round in program history and the Trojans' best since the 3-under 285 at the Ron Moore Intercollegiate in 2015-16.
 
Krnacova finished out the final round of the season-opening tournament with a 4-under 68, setting a new career-low and marking the lowest individual round by a Trojan since Emelie Blennow's 67 at the 2018 Little Rock Golf Classic. Krnacova was even through nine holes, then caught fire over the back nine with a 4-under 32 to tie for 11th individually at 1 -under 215, tied for the 11th-lowest 54-hole tournament in program history.
 
Katja Mueller had a strong showing in her first collegiate tournament, finishing with a 1-over 73 over the final round. Mueller posted a 4-over 220 as a true freshman, tying for 29th in her collegiate debut.
 
Agatha Alesson also finished under par with a 2-under 70 over the final 18 holes, going 2-under 34 over the final nine holes and marking the fifth par-or-better round of her Little Rock career. She finished third on the Trojan scorecard with an 8-over 224.
 
Tilde Bocker (10-over 226) and Kellie Gachaga (18-over 234) rounded out the Trojan scorecard while Sydney Scraba posted a 6-over 222, including a final round 1-under 71, tying a career-low, competing as an individual.
 
Entering the day in eighth place, Little Rock moved up one spot in the team standings with its even-par 288, finishing two shots better than eighth-place Troy (19-over 883) and three shots ahead of ninth-place Georgia State (20-over 884). Little Rock made a run at Houston Baptist, finishing three shots back of the sixth-place Huskies (14-over 878).
 
Sam Houston ran away with the team title with a 31-under 833, finishing 19 shots better than runner-up South Florida (12-under 852). Middle Tennessee (9-under 855) placed third with Arkansas State (3-over 867) and South Alabama (4-over 868) rounding out the top-five.
 
Little Rock will return to action at the end of the month, heading north to Columbia, Missouri to compete in the 2021 Johnie Imes. Hosted by Missouri, the event will be held Monday, September 27 through Wednesday, September 29 at the Club at Old Hawthorne.
