COLLEGE STATION, Texas - Two school records were broke at the Texas A&M Invitational on Saturday as the Little Rock Track and Field teams competed in their second meet of the outdoor season.
Janae Largins set the shot put record she had previously broke last week, while
Tyler Moore set the 400m hurdles record.
FIELD EVENTS
Largins placed fourth in the shot put with a personal best distance of 48-3.5 (14.72m) for a fourth place finish. This is the second-straight meet she has set the Little Rock record that previously she held.
Largins also placed sixth in the hammer with a personal best throw of 154-2 (47.00m) to now rank her sixth in school records.
Alison Stephens was the top Trojan finisher in the hammer placing fifth with a distance of 154-5 (47.06m).
In the men's hammer,
Casey Griffin placed second with a throw of 172-4 (522.53m). He also placed eighth in the shot put with a distance of 42-6 (12.95m).
Aaliyah Mathis recorded a distance of 144-5 (44.04m) for a fifth place finish in the discus.
Ludovica Polini placed seventh in the pole vault with a distance of 12-0.25 (3.67m).
Deshawn Roberts was the top Trojan finisher in the high jump placing third with a distance of 6-6.75 (2.00m), while
Emilio Varela recorded a jump of 6-0.75 (1.85m) for a fifth place finish. In the women's high jump,
Ragen Hodge and
Alicia Long each recorded a jump of 5-1 (1.55m) for a sixth and seventh place finish.
In the women's triple jump,
Alexia Washington was the top Trojan finisher placing second with a personal best distance of 39-8 (12.09m) to rank her second in Little Rock records.
Layloni Watson placed third with a personal best jump of 39-6 (12.04m) to rank her third in school records, while
Carolin Bielert placed eighth with a personal best distance of 37-8.5 (11.49m) to rank her sixth in school records.
Crystal Trowers placed eighth with a jump of 36-3.5 (11.06m).
Washington was also the top Trojan finisher in the women's long jump placing tenth with a distance of 18-6 (5.64m). Bielert placed 14th with a jump of 18-4.25 (5.59m), while Watson placed 18th in 17-7.25 (5.37m).
In the men's trip jump,
Dion Murombe placed fourth with a distance of 48-4 (14.73m), while
Falon Short placed sixth with a jump of 45-1.5 (13.75m).
Ryan Curington was the top Trojan finisher in the men's long jump placing third with a distance of 24-2.5 (7.38m). Short placed sixth with a jump of 23-4 (7.11m), while Murombe placed eighth with a distance of 22-3.25 (6.80m).
RUNNING EVENTS
Moore placed third in the 400m hurdles with a personal best time of 52.47 to break the current Little Rock record.
Frankie Grey placed sixth in the event with a time of 53.25, while
Teylen Patterson placed tenth in 54.67.
The women's 4x100m relay team of
Maliyah Holland,
Takia Palmer,
Makayla Jones, and
Landri Schreier placed fourth with a time of 45.87.
In the men's 110m hurdles,
Matthew Tyeskie placed third matching his personal best time of 14.05 to keep him ranked second in Little Rock records.
Cogan DeRousselle placed fourth in 14.50, and
John Sanderson placed 11th in 15.10.
Jasmine Torres placed 16th in the women's 400m with a time of 1:01.80.
In the women's 100m,
Takia Palmer was the top Trojan finisher placing ninth in 12.10. Schreier placed tenth in 12.14, while Holland placed 16th in 12.25.
Talia Palmer placed 27th with a time of 12.72.
Schreier also placed tenth in the 200m with a time of 24.68 as the top Trojan finisher.
Takia Palmer placed 11th in 24.78, and
Talia Palmer placed 26th in 25.88.
Troy McKnight was the top Trojan finisher in the men's 100m placing fifth in 10.58.
Gabriel Torres placed 12th in 10.69, while
Juan Garza placed 14th in 10.75.
Garza also placed 15th in the men's 200m with a time of 21.89, while
Cameron Jackson placed 19th in 21.97.
Cayla Anthony placed tenth in the 800m recording a time of 2:18.00.
In the women's 400m hurdles,
Alexia Allen placed fifth in 1:05.00.
