LITTLE ROCK, Ark. - Three school records and six facility records were set as the Little Rock men's and women's track and field teams completed the final day hosting the Little Rock Invitational at the Coleman Sports Complex. The men's team finished in first place with 258 total points, while the women finished in second with 208 total points.
FINAL RESULTS
FIELD EVENTS
Dion Murombe set the school and facility record in the men's triple jump with a personal best distance of 50-4 (15.34m) to win the event.
Falon Short placed second in the event with a jump of 44-11.5 (13.70m).
Records were also set in the women's triple jump as
Layloni Watson won the event with a personal best jump of 41-5.25 (12.63m) to set the school record and facility record.
Alexia Washington placed second with a personal best jump of 41-5 (12.62m) to rank her second in school records and surpassing the previous facility mark.
Crystal Trowers placed third with a personal best distance of 40-0.75 (12.21m) ranking her fourth in school records and besting the pervious facilities record, while
Carolin Bielert placed fourth with a personal best jump of 39-4 (11.99m) to rank her sixth in school records.
Washington was the top Trojan finisher in the long jump placing second with a personal best distance of 18-11.75 (5.78m), while Watson placed fifth with a personal best jump of 18-5.75 (5.63m) to rank her tied for 10th in school records. Bielert placed tenth with a jump of 17-8.25 (5.39m), and
Kendall King placed 11th with a distance of 16-5.25 (5.01m).
In the men's long jump,
Ryan Curington won the event with a jump of 24-3.75 (7.41m).
Matthew Fox placed second with a personal best jump of 23-10.75 (7.28m) to rank him tied for fifth in school records, while Murombe placed third with a jump of 22-11.75 (7.00m). Short placed fifth with a distance of 22-6.5 (6.87m), and
Ethan Sorrels placed 11th with a jump of 20-7.25 (6.28m).
Deshawn Roberts won the men's high jump with a distance of 6-6.75 (2.00m), while
Emilio Varela tied for second with a jump of 6-2.75 (1.90m).
In the women's high jump
Jayden Gilbert and
Ragen Hodge both tied for third with a jump of 5-5 (1.65m), a personal best for Gilbert.
Alicia Long placed seventh with a jump of 5-5 (1.65m).
Aaliyah Mathis won both the women's shot put and the women's discus. She recorded a personal best throw of 47-6.5 (14.49m) in the shot put to rank her second in school records, while in the discus she won the event with a distance of 146-1 (44.52m).
Alison Stephens placed second in the discus with a throw of 141-4 (43.07m) and 14th in the shot put with a throw of 37-9.25 (11.51m).
Janae Largins placed second in the shot put with a distance of 47-2.5 (14.39m), while
Kiara Moss placed ninth with a throw of 40-1.5 (12.23m).
In the men's discus,
Casey Griffin placed fourth with a personal best throw of 119-11 (36.55m) to rank him ninth in school records, while Sorrels placed sixth with a throw of 112-7 (34.32m).
Griffin also placed third in the shot put with a throw of 44-4.75 (13.53m).
In the men's javelin,
Patrick Young placed second with a personal best throw of 157-0 (47.86m), while in the women's event, Bielert placed fourth with a throw of 91-2 (27.79m).
Brooklyn Marcee set the new facility record in the women's pole vault winning the event with a distance of 12-1.5 (3.70m).
Ludovica Polini placed second with a vault of 11-9.75 (3.60m) to also surpass the previous facility mark.
RUNNING EVENTS
Frankie Grey set the school record in the men's 400m hurdles winning the event in 52.32 and setting the new facility record.
Teylen Patterson placed second with a time of 53.85.
In the women's 400m hurdles,
Alexia Allen placed second in 1:02.45.
Troy McKnight won the men's 100m tying his personal best with a time of 10.32, while
Landri Schreier won the women's event with a time of 11.58.
Takia Palmer placed sixth with a personal best time of 11.76 to rank her fourth in school records, while
Maliyah Holland placed seventh in 11.95.
Makayla Jones recorded a time of 11.98 for eighth place, and
Talia Palmer placed ninth in 12.20.
Schreier was also the top finisher in the 200m placing third with a personal best time of 23.89 to rank her second in school records.
Takia Palmer also recorded a personal best time of 24.14 for a fourth place finish and to rank her sixth in school records. Holland placed eighth with a personal best time of 24.46 to rank her seventh in school records, while
Talia Palmer recorded a time of 24.51, a personal best time which now ranks her eighth in school records.
Kendall Johnson placed 17th in 25.64.
In the men's 200m,
Cogan DeRousselle placed second with a personal best time of 20.73 to rank him fourth in school records.
Cameron Jackson placed fifth in 21.04, while McKnight placed ninth in 21.16.
Nicari McGee recorded a time of 22.42 for a 27th place finish.
Juan Garza was the top Trojan finisher in the men's 400m placing second in 48.37. Nick Newby placed fourth with a time f 49.20, while
Chase Peterson placed seventh in 49.88.
Devin Stevens recorded a time of 50.65 for a ninth place finish.
In the women's event,
Zoa Adams placed third in 57.37, and
Jasmine Torres placed ninth in 1:03.29.
Andrew Payton set a new facility record int he men's 800m recording a time of 1:51.61, while
Shane Fisher placed sixth in 1:56.24.
In the women's 800m,
Cayla Anthony won the event recording a time of 2:17.10.
Spencer Cardinal was the top Trojan finisher in the men's 1500m winning the event in 3:57.77.
Zach McPhee placed second in 4:00.08, while
Josh Beam placed seventh in 4:08.32.
Marcie Cudworth placed third in the women's 1500m recording a time of 4:39.68, while
Kyla Lochtefeld placed fifth in 4:46.05.
Panagiota Lazarou placed ninth in 5:04.02.
In the men's 110m hurdles,
Matthew Tyeskie won the event with a time of 14.10 to set the new facilities record. DeRousselle placed third with a personal best time of 14.14 surpassing the previous facility mark. Fox placed sixth in 14.66, and
John Sanderson placed 11th in 18.73.
Brooke Walker placed tenth in the 5,000m recording a time of 20:08.43.
Joel Allen won the men's 3000m steeplechase with a time of 9:50.79, and
Aaron Soltmann placed second in 9:51.38.
In the women's 3000m steeplechase,
Kennedie Rhein won the event with a time of 11:58.51.
The men's 4x100m relay team placed third in 40.25 to rank them eighth in school records, while the men's 4x400m relay team placed second in 3:17.71.
In the women's 4x100m relay the team placed second in 45.22 to tie the team second in school records. The 4x400m realay team placed second in 3:56.11.
