LITTLE ROCK, Ark. — The Trojans Track and Field teams earned a pair of runner-up team finishes Saturday as both squads finished with at least 140 points in the 2025 Little Rock Invitational at the Coleman Athletic Complex.
The Trojans racked up gold medals in 11 events, set four new facility records, and broke a pair of school records during the two-day meet. The men finished with 142 points, second to only Central Arkansas with 185. The women totaled 140 points, behind only Central Arkansas with 241.5.
COMPLETE RESULTS
Aaliyah Mathis picked up a pair of golds in the shot put and discus, setting a new school record in the discus (168-1) and new facility mark in shot put (49-4.5).
Nichole Thomas won gold in the javelin with a throw of 129-5. In men's field events,
Sutton Manatt broke his own school record and took gold in the pole vault, becoming the first Trojan to break the 5-meter mark with his best clearance of 5.10m (16-8.75).
Falon Short also won gold in the long jump (24-0.25).
Women's track events had a gold medal by
Panagiota Lazarou, who finished the 5000 meters in 17:53.22. Men's track events saw the Trojans take five golds, including
Tyler Moore's personal best and facility record in the 400m hurdles (51.55),
Shane Fisher's facility record and personal best in the 1500 meters (3:50.85), Nick Newby's personal best in the Capitol City Mile (4:01.88),
Devin Stevens with a facility record and personal best in the 800 meters (1:50.34), and
Joel Allen in the 3000m steeplechase (9:55.86).
Little Rock totaled nine silver medals and four bronze for a haul of 24 medals.
